Churchill Downs Chaplain

Yurian Cabrera, the assistant chaplain at Churchill Downs prays with a groom in a stable.

I spent two days with Yurian Cabrera, the assistant chaplain for Churchill Downs this summer. Yurian helps run the chapel on the backside of the track. There are over 800 people who live on the backside during the racing season. Many live in small apartments over the stables.
